We are seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of GAAP, and proficiency with accounting software and Excel.

Key Responsibilities for General Accountant - Accounting Duties & Financial Reporting

Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
Generate timely financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports in accordance with GAAP.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions; monitor aging schedules and cash receipts.
Assist with payroll support, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset tracking.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve internal controls.
Support audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries during external and internal audits.
Implement process improvements to enhance accounting workflows and reporting accuracy.

Required Qualifications - General Accountant Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting environments.
Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close processes, and reconciliation procedures.
Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to interact with stakeholders across departments.

Preferred Qualifications - General Accountant Certifications & Tools

CPA, CMA, or other relevant accounting certification preferred.
Experience with ERP implementations, process automation tools, or financial consolidation software is a plus.
Familiarity with tax filings, regulatory compliance, and internal control frameworks.
