Field/Site Engineer
Field/Site Engineer: join a collaborative, safety‑minded team to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain on‑site systems with real impact on reliability and safety.
We are seeking a collaborative, technically proficient, and safety‑focused Field/Site Engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and safe operation of on‑site systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, reliability, and project teams to deliver field engineering solutions, troubleshoot equipment and system issues, and ensure projects are executed on schedule and to specification. This role requires strong practical engineering judgment, excellent communication with cross‑functional teams and contractors, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute field engineering activities including site surveys, installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance testing of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Collaborate with project engineers, operations, and contractors to translate design documents (P&IDs, electrical single‑line diagrams, equipment data sheets) into safe and practical field work plans.

Oversee contractor work and third‑party vendors on site to ensure compliance with specifications, workmanship standards, safety procedures, and schedule commitments.

Perform hands‑on diagnostics and root cause analysis of field equipment and systems; implement corrective actions and verify performance through testing and data validation.

Develop, maintain, and execute commissioning checklists, punch lists, field test procedures, and as‑built documentation; ensure configuration management of site changes.

Coordinate and support turnarounds, shutdowns, and startups; provide technical guidance during operational transitions and support safe execution of work activities in the field.

Implement and promote safe work practices, permit to work systems, HAZID/HAZOP follow‑ups, and incident investigation processes; ensure site compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot field instrumentation, control devices, power distribution equipment, and network elements in coordination with instrumentation and controls teams.

Collect, analyze, and report field data to support reliability improvements, preventive maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support spare parts strategy, site inventory, and lifecycle planning for critical field assets; provide input to cost estimates and technical risk assessments.
Required Qualifications - Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical field experience.

3+ years of hands‑on field or site engineering experience in industrial, commercial, or process environments, including installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, field instrumentation, control devices, and construction practices; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Experience coordinating contractors, managing site activities, and executing safe work permits and procedures.

Strong problem‑solving skills and experience performing root cause analysis using hands‑on diagnostic methods and test equipment (multimeter, clamp meter, loop tester, vibration tools, etc.).

Effective verbal and written communication skills: capable of preparing clear field reports, commissioning records, and coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Willingness and ability to travel to field locations, work in outdoor and industrial environments, and participate in shift or on‑call rotations as required.

Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship when performing field activities.
Preferred Qualifications - Domain & Tools

Certifications or training in construction safety (e.g., OSHA, TG20), electrical safety, or relevant trade qualifications are a plus.

Familiarity with commissioning tools, configuration software for PLC/DCS I/O, basic scripting or data extraction for field data analysis, and SCADA/telemetry systems.

Experience with asset management systems, maintenance planning tools, and condition‑based monitoring platforms.

Background in process safety, hazardous area work, and intrinsic safety practices beneficial for sites with classified environments.
