Construction Manager
Construction Manager: join a collaborative, safety‑minded team to lead lab, pilot‑plant, and light industrial builds — on time, on budget, code‑compliant, with a focus on quality.
We are seeking a collaborative, detail‑oriented, and safety‑focused Construction Manager to lead, coordinate, and deliver building, renovation, and infrastructure projects across laboratory, pilot‑plant, and light industrial facilities. The successful candidate will partner with R&D, process engineering, facilities, EHS, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and specifications. This role requires strong leadership, technical judgment, excellent communication, hands‑on field experience, and a commitment to quality, constructability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead construction projects from pre‑construction through turnover, including scope definition, schedule development, cost control, contractor selection, contract administration, and closeout.
-
Develop, review, and manage construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, procurement packages, and submittal reviews to support contractor execution.
-
Create and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, manage critical path activities, and produce milestone reporting; coordinate trade sequencing, long‑lead procurement, and site logistics to meet delivery targets.
-
Plan and lead construction and coordination meetings, conduct pre‑construction reviews, perform regular site inspections, and document meeting minutes and action items to closure.
-
Provide on‑site supervision and technical direction during construction, commissioning, and start‑up; review contractor work for conformance with design, specifications, and safety requirements.
-
Perform constructability reviews and value engineering with stakeholders to optimize schedule, cost, and maintainability while ensuring functional and safety requirements are preserved.
-
Develop, implement, and enforce site safety plans, permits, and contractor safety controls; participate in safety observations, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
-
Manage change orders, field modifications, and nonconformance issues; evaluate impacts to cost, schedule, and risk and coordinate approvals with project stakeholders.
-
Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, and MEP work, including utility connections and specialty systems, to ensure integrated system performance and code compliance.
-
Support commissioning and acceptance testing by developing test plans, witnessing functional tests, documenting deficiencies, and verifying corrective actions prior to turnover.
-
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation including RFIs, submittals, AS‑built drawings, turnover packages, O&M manuals, and warranties to support operations and maintenance.
-
Engage with suppliers and contractors to evaluate technical proposals, review shop drawings, witness factory or site testing, and qualify vendors and products for project use.
-
Provide clear technical reports, cost summaries, and presentations summarizing project status, risks, recommendations, and forecasts; present updates to cross‑functional teams and leadership.
-
Mentor and guide junior staff, field coordinators, and technicians on construction management best practices, quality assurance, safe work practices, and project documentation; contribute to standards and training materials.

Proven experience preparing and reviewing construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contractor deliverables; ability to interpret engineering designs and translate them into field execution.
-
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project schedules, cost estimates, progress reporting, and change management in fast‑paced project environments.
-
Extensive hands‑on field experience with construction oversight, quality inspections, safety compliance, and coordination of multi‑trade teams and subcontractors.
