Head of Human Resources
Join a collaborative, safety-minded team as Head of Human Resources to shape people strategy, foster inclusive growth, and partner with leadership on evidence-based people programs.
We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and people‑centric leader to serve as Head of Human Resources. This role will shape and execute HR strategy across the organization, partner with senior leadership to align talent programs with business objectives, drive a high‑performing and inclusive culture, and ensure compliant, efficient, and employee‑focused HR operations. The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen, HR domain expertise, data‑driven decision making, and proven experience leading talent, total rewards, organizational development, and employee relations in a dynamic, safety‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the company’s HR strategy in partnership with executive leadership to support business goals, workforce planning, and long‑term organizational growth.
Lead talent acquisition and onboarding programs to attract diverse, high‑quality candidates; oversee recruitment processes, employer branding, candidate experience, and metrics for time‑to‑fill and quality‑of‑hire.
Design and manage competitive total rewards programs, including compensation structures, incentive plans, and benefits administration to attract and retain talent while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Champion performance management and career development frameworks that promote continuous feedback, competency growth, succession planning, and leadership development across all levels.
Oversee employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution; ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant application of policies and practices.
Lead diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives; collaborate with stakeholders to embed inclusive practices into recruitment, retention, development, and recognition programs.
Drive organizational design and change management for business transformations, mergers, or restructuring activities; provide coaching and guidance to leaders to manage transitions effectively.
Ensure HR operational excellence by standardizing HR policies, processes, and systems (HRIS, payroll, HR analytics); identify opportunities for automation and process improvement to enhance service delivery.
Partner with Health, Safety, and Operations teams to integrate workforce safety, compliance, and training programs; support a culture of safety and well‑being across worksites.
Monitor HR metrics and workforce analytics (turnover, engagement, retention, diversity metrics) and prepare reports and presentations for the executive team to inform strategic decisions.
Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing HR team; establish clear roles, career paths, and performance expectations to support employee and organizational success.
Required Qualifications - Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑SCP, SPHR) preferred.
10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role overseeing multiple HR functions in a medium to large organization.
Proven experience designing and executing talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, and leadership development programs.
Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, HR best practices, and experience managing employee relations and investigations.
Experience implementing and managing HRIS platforms and leveraging HR analytics to drive decisions; proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence senior leaders, and drive cross‑functional initiatives with measurable business impact.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executive audiences and build trusted partnerships across the organization.
High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while making balanced, business‑oriented HR decisions.
Preferred Qualifications - Domain & Tools
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or operations‑intensive environments, including familiarity with site‑based workforce challenges and safety programs.
Prior experience managing global or multi‑site HR operations, with exposure to international labor practices and cross‑border workforce issues.
Advanced certification or training in organizational development, change management, talent assessment tools, or leadership coaching.
Practical experience with HRIS platforms (Workday, ADP, BambooHR, or equivalent), payroll integrations, ATS systems, and learning management systems.
Demonstrated success launching DE&I programs, employee engagement initiatives, and measurable culture change efforts.
Work Environment & Compensation
Full‑time, senior leadership role based onsite or in a hybrid arrangement depending on business needs; regular interaction with operational sites and occasional travel to regional locations may be required.
