Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Systems Administrator to join our IT team. The successful candidate will maintain, administer, and enhance the company’s server, network, and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This role partners closely with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to deploy and operate services, implement automation, and respond to incidents. Strong troubleshooting skills, a systems-oriented mindset, and clear communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Infrastructure Management

Administer and maintain on-premises and cloud-based servers, virtual machines, and infrastructure components to ensure reliability and scalability.

Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes across Linux and Windows environments following change management processes.

Manage identity and access controls, including directory services, single sign-on, and privileged access to maintain secure operations.
Network & Security Operations

Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers to maintain performance and availability.

Implement and maintain security best practices, including hardening, vulnerability scanning, patching cadence, and incident response support.

Collaborate with Security and Engineering to remediate findings, enforce policies, and support audits or compliance activities.
Automation, Tooling & Scripting

Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration management, and routine operational tasks using scripts and infrastructure-as-code.

Support CI/CD and deployment tooling, integrating system configuration and operational checks into build and release pipelines.

Document runbooks, playbooks, and automation workflows to ensure reproducible operations and knowledge transfer across the team.
Monitoring, Incident Management & Performance

Maintain and tune monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to detect availability, capacity, and performance issues proactively.

Respond to incidents, lead root cause analysis, and drive remediation actions to reduce recurrence and improve system resilience.

Analyze capacity and performance trends, recommend and implement optimizations to meet operational and cost objectives.
Collaboration, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

Work closely with cross-functional teams to support project onboarding, infrastructure requirements, and production launches.

Create and maintain clear documentation for system architecture, configuration, operational procedures, and incident reports.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, automation, and observability; propose and implement practical solutions.
Required Qualifications - Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

3+ years of hands-on experience administering Linux and/or Windows server environments in production.

Proficiency with virtualization and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with core services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, and storage.

Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef) and scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) and experience troubleshooting network issues.

Experience with monitoring and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Datadog) and incident management practices.

Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting containerized workloads and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) in production environments.

Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance requirements, and performing vulnerability assessments or remediation.

Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and hands-on experience implementing DR procedures.

Certifications such as RHCE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent are a plus.

Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration practices for infrastructure-as-code repositories.
Work Environment & Compensation

Full-time position with a hybrid onsite/remote work model; occasional on-call shifts and travel for team meetings or critical incidents may be required.
